Here at Northglenn Christian Church, we try to follow God’s way in all that we do, and we believe his plan for supporting his church is clearly set forth in the Bible. This is what we read in Malachi 3:8-10:
Will anyone rob God? Yet you are robbing me! But you say, "How are we robbing you?" In your tithes and offerings! You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me – the whole nation of you! Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in my house, and thus put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts; see if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.
The proper way for Christians to support the church is with their tithes and offerings. We say it this way: "Present your tithe; Give your offerings." Notice that God said to bring the tithe, not give the tithe. That’s because the tithe rightfully belongs to him anyway. We don’t give to someone what that person already owns. So we bring the tithe to God. (A tithe is 10% of one’s income.) Additionally, as he continues to bless us, we give our offerings.
We offer several options as noted on this page to make it more convenient for you. These easy methods allow you to present your tithe to the general fund and also give your offerings to the building fund as well as to other funds that may be set up from time to time, what we often refer to as special love offerings. When you do use one of these methods, you can be assured, no matter whether it’s your tithe you present or an offering you give, all contributions will be used to support and further the work of God’s kingdom through the ministries of Northglenn Christian Church.
